Early October brought stunning fall colors and perfect weather to the mountains and this is a great time to be in our area.
That said, winter is not far away and there was snow in the high country over the weekend. The gondola closesdOctober 20 and last month the ski resort put passes on sale. November 11 is the last day for early bird pricing. Details can be found on their website.
The winter air schedule is also now available, with new flights from Orange County to Montrose on Breeze Airways, added capacity from Denver on United, additional flights and seats from Dallas on American Airlines and Southwest, and daily flights from Los Angeles on United over the holidays. Real estate sales in San Miguel County continue to show strong dollar volume (buoyed by 14 sales at $10M or more YTD) with lower number of overall transactions Tight inventory, and strong demand for turnkey, fairly priced properties remains strong and buyers who wait on the sidelines may regret it. Dollar volume through September is up 15% over 2023 (but still behind the record setting year of 2021 and 2022) while number of sales are up only 2% over last year.
